ORLANDO, Fla. --- Could risking everything-including personal life, be worth giving it all up for a childhood dream?
Well this is what Adam Barr of the Golf Channel explained to students at Valencia Community College. Barr, a successful and acknowledged reporter, gave a first account to what it was like to give up the nine-to-five job to chase a dream.
“I was a lawyer for six years and decided, with no experience, I want to work in the golf industry,” a dream sport of his since he was young, said Barr.
Taking the risk of working in the golf industry, which some like his mother did not approve of- “failed lawyer” is what Barr said his mother always thought of him.
Changing his path worked for Barr, as he moved on from working in golf print to now golf broadcast journalism.
Traveling all around the world and having uncommon experiences, this golf reporter is happy with the risk he took years ago because today, “I am standing next to the Hope Girls at golf tournaments,” said Barr.
